Immanuel is a concept album written by Melanie Penn that tells the story of Christmas from a first person perspective. All the songs are written from a different vantage point from the scriptures. The song collection begins with the prophet Isaiah and continues on through the narrative with Mary, Joseph, the wise men, the shepherds … ending with Simeon holding the Christ child.
The IMMANUEL show is songs, Christmas carols, scripture readings, and storytelling. Think of it as Lessons and Carols with original songs, reflection, and just the right amount of humor.

We certainly think so! IMMANUEL has been touring for 8 years in churches large and small, homes, theaters, fundraisers, nightclubs, corporate Christmas parties, even an office!
The project was created with an intention that anyone could access these songs and the stories within, no matter where they are on their faith journey. We've found IMMANUEL is an event that can help show hosts welcome their neighborhoods and surrounding communities into a Christmas experience.

Please contact booking@melaniepenn.com to discuss costs surrounding IMMANUEL. Typically Immanuel is a flat fee with a separate invoice for housing and transportation since travel and lodging costs can vary per region.

Yes! IMMANUEL is a modular program that can incorporate a message, childrens choir, dance, or any number of different modifications.

Yes! IMMANUEL always involves scripture readers from the host community (we work with you on that). There are also existing choral arrangements for IMMANUEL and some instrumental arrangements if you would like to involve local musicians.

Yes. IMMANUEL is branded and can send you photos, logos, and a kit to make your own promotional materials. We also have a program that you can customize and print. IMMANUEL has a full propresenter package if your event has projection or LED capability.
