Melanie Penn is a classically trained vocalist and songwriter based in Nashville, TN. For many years she was part of New York’s theater scene, where she played Sandy in the Broadway national tour of Grease alongside legendary actor and entertainer Frankie Avalon. Penn also served as a worship leader at the city’s Redeemer Presbyterian Church under the late bestselling author and theologian Tim Keller.

Penn has released multiple albums, including Wake Up Love (2010), Hope Tonight (2015), More Alive Volume 1 (2020), and More Alive Volume 2 (2022). Her critically acclaimed 2017 concept album Immanuel is a journey through the Christmas story. It reached #1 on Amazon’s Christian, Worship, and Holiday Download charts. Her most recent album, The Rising, is a companion work that tells the story of the resurrection.

This season Penn returns to the Christmas story with Immanuel: The Acoustic Sessions (Deluxe). It includes four new songs and offers a stripped-back way into the album that listeners have made part of their Advent and Christmas traditions.
