Melanie Penn writes pop songs at the crossroads of faith and culture. She was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Falls Church, VA. She began training as a classical vocalist as a pre-teen and competed as a classical singer until moving to New York City.

In New York, Mel transitioned to pop and theater singing, and for many years she was a mainstay of the theater scene, which included playing Sandy on the national tour of Grease! with Frankie Avalon. She also served for many years as a worship leader and music director for many New York City churches.

During her years in New York, Mel began a deep and lasting partnership with Redeemer City to City - a church planting organization started by theologian Tim Keller. To date Mel has helped raise close to $10m for this God-breathed organization.

She is best known for her original album, IMMANUEL, a retelling of the Christmas story. She recently released her 6th singer-songwriter album, More Alive Vol. II and is now releasing a series of singles. Mel recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee and you can get in touch at melpennsings@gmail.com
